Founded in 2008 by internet entrepreneurs, Joel Sauceda and Brad Harris, Big Value Depot was created to meet the needs of online sellers who were seeking alternatives to the likes of Ebay, Amazon,Craigslist and other websites that provide a platform for sellers to showcase their items online.
Below are quotes from a recent interview of Joel Sauceda (Big Value Depot CEO)
We notice traffic has increased to your website since inception, however, how does it compare to Ebay etc?
“While Big Value Depot is growing in popularity, we have never claimed to be the ‘the only place’ for selling your items. We consider ourselves an alternative and we have always encouraged our sellers to diversify their listings on other sites (especially free sites). We believe in piggy back marketing which simply means, utilizing the traffic of other sites as a means to multiply exposure of your items that are showcased on Big Value Depot” Said Joel Sauceda (CEO Of Big Value Depot). Mark, Ebay is not a bad word around our work place! We respect the companies that paved the way for ventures like ours and we learn from them. As a matter of fact, we have several Ebay sellers who use our webstores as well and we are currently developing a way to enable sellers from sites like Ebay to easily migrate their items to Big Value Depot with the click of a few buttons. We look at Ebay as Grandma and Grandpa and as you know you can learn a lot from the wise! Everytime we get a chance to sit on Ebays lap, we listen ☺
What is unique about Big Value Depot..There are hundreds of other sites to choose from?
“Big Value Depot has a different philosophy than other sites that allow you to sell your items. Allowing people to sell items on a site is simple, it is creating that esprit de corp or team work of ‘people helping people’ sell their items that is lacking. Big Value Depot has captured that essence by instilling incentives for members buying items from other members. This is where our rewards program is going to boost Big Value Depot’s traffic by at least 2000%. No other site has taken all of these elements and molded them into one”.
What are you planning to do to increase traffic to Big Value Depot? And long term plans?
We have partnered with a top notch digital marketing media team called 3 cube media. They have been responsible for many successes in web videos that have gone viral. One of our strategies is to bring awareness to the public that we exist. This is being done by way of web videos, TV spots and creative radio ads. Additionally, we have an aggressive web campaign slated to begin in the next 30 days that will encompass many of the major online media outlets for advertising. We have big plans and there is much more to Big Value Depot than meets the eyes. People are impressed with what we have done to build this company from a start up with minimal capital to a company that owns it’s code and has virtually zero debt. Mark, we are in a position to capture a share of this multi-billion dollar market of people worldwide who are always looking for alternative methods to sell their unwanted items or small businesses that need an affordable and simple method for selling their products and services online.
I have been hearing all the buzz about a project you own called Ad Plotter. Please explain.
Ad Plotter has been in development by way of a joint venture agreement with Robert Jackson who is founder of Creative Software Systems. We have completed a beta version of this software that took nearly a year to complete but is looking extremely promising. In a nutshell, this software will integrate with Big Value Depot’s listing engine and eventually, with the completion of a few fields and the click of a few buttons, that listing, whatever it may be, will be plotted on multiple sites outside of Big Value Depot. The sites we select for this plotting will be free sites of course and this will create a win/win for those site owners because their traffic will increase and our sellers win because their items get more exposure. It is that simple. Mark, there is no other listing site that offers this and to duplicate what we are doing would be virtually impossible because the code that we co-own with Creative Software Systems has been almost 11 years in development. It was adapted for a web based version over the past year and we are working directly with the developer in partnership to white label this software for other companies however, Big Value Depot will always be at the top of the list for where the ads will be “plotted” regardless of who carries our label. It is exciting and we are looking forward to sharing this with our 300 Elite Team who will be the beta testers on this project. Web Pro store owners will also be using this software application as part of their monthly subscription.
